Issues covered in the policy brief include the implications of globalization, impact of decentralization, role of the third sector and social enterprises, and best practices in local development policy.
LED Strategy Casebook, World Bank A core aim of this LED Strategic Planning and Practice Casebook is to highlight practical knowledge and approaches that can be used by municipal governments and communities to understand, design and implement integrated LED strategies. This Casebook seeks to provide an understanding of municipal approaches to LED strategic planning by identifying good practice in strategic planning methodology. The Casebook serves as a collection of six local economic development strategies that provide examples of good practice from across Europe and from the Cities of Change network. The Casebook also contains good practice notes and comments.

LED Case Studies, Development Gateway Foundation The case studies from this World Bank website are identified by their primary LED project or program objective. Through this web page the World Bank staff seeks to build a library of case studies that share the success stories and the 'not so successful' stories from those who have developed and implemented a LED strategy. These case studies are either directly linked to another website, a PDF document link, or an analysis of a specific region using the five step LED strategic approach.

Aimed at economic development professionals, the online library has been designed as a tool for sharing ideas and good practice about groundbreaking regeneration initiatives in more than 40 countries on all 7 continents, from Europe and North America to Australasia, Africa, Asia and South America. The database provides its subscribers with up-to-date, practical information about how individual strategies and initiatives in the regeneration field can help to improve the lives of people in countries across the globe.
