The Cities Alliance The Cities Alliance, a global coalition of cities and their development partners, is committed to scaling up successful approaches to poverty reduction. By promoting the positive impacts of urbanization, the Alliance helps local authorities plan and prepare for future growth. The Alliance helps cities to develop sustainable financing strategies and attract long-term capital investments for infrastructure and other services. The Cities Alliance provides matching grants to support city development strategies and slum-upgrading efforts.
ICMA Center for Performance Measurement The ICMA Center for Performance Measurement is dedicated to helping local governments measure, compare, and improve municipal service delivery. It demonstrates the practical ways in which public, private and civil society sectors are working together to improve governance, eradicate poverty, provide access to shelter, land and basic services, protect the environment and support economic development.

The Local Government Information Network LOGIN is a local government information clearinghouse designed to promote the professional development of local government officials and their staffs, and strengthen the capabilities of organizations that support the reform of public administration at the local level. LOGIN facilitates the exchange of information through the Internet, workshops, publications, conferences, and training. The mission of LOGIN is to provide information to decision-makers at the local level through the exchange of knowledge and experience in Central and Eastern Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union.
Local Government & Public Service Reform Initiative LGI works to promote democratic and effective local government and public administration to advance policy analysis as a tool for decision making in public affairs. LGI supports governmental reform, in collaboration with its civil society partners, by monitoring and benchmarking government performance on the one hand and providing analytical and technical support to government on the other. The LGI website provides policy papers, country reports, program descriptions, links to other useful websites, and other information related to public administration and local government.
Local Governments for Sustainability ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability was founded in 1990 by local governments at the United Nations Headquarters in New York as the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI). ICLEI is a democratically governed membership association of cities, towns, counties, metropolitan governments, and local government associations. ICLEI provides technical consulting, training, and information services to build capacity, share knowledge, and support local government in the implementation of sustainable development at the local level.
